Today we are going to learn about the simplest element of Art: DOT.
DOT
Kandinsky, an important abstract painter stated that the dot is born the moment a drawing tool hits the paper.
It means that is a very easy thing to do, so simple, a dot...

So, dots can connect and in this way, guide your look.
We are going to practice with expression and composition with dots using the activity of the next video made by Fidel Rodríguez del Moral. If they are place together, they can create forms.

DOT IN ART
Dot is all and nothing, beginning and end, birth, principle, origin, center, starting point and ending point. -Lewandowsky.
Dot has been presented in the Art History since the beginning, from the paintings on the walls of the caves to contemporary painting and design.
In the next slide show you can see several examples of the using of dots through different ages and art movements. Enjoy the journey!
Here you can learn more about POINTILLISM.
Another interesting artist that use dots.
ACTIVITY 2 - BOOMERANG DESIGN
In this activity you have to design a aboriginal art style boomerang.
In order to learnmore about this ancient art you can see the next slideshow.
Inside you are going to see the meaning of different symbols used in aboriginal designs.
Here you have the design, it is not necessary to print it, you can draw the boomerang in a sheet of paper, but you have to draw it big because that way it is easier to draw the different elements.
Of course you have to use dots to make your design.
DEADLINE (Fecha de entrega) - May 6th
If you have any question, whatever: vocabulary, meaning... anything you know how to contact.
¡¡¡AVISO!!!
Miriam
